Fulltime Faculty - Performance

Eric begins his 12th year at MiraCosta College and has been teaching theatre on the college level since 1992. He has taught at all levels (community college, university and conservatory) and at several colleges including Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, Utah State University, Cal State Fullerton, Allan Hancock College, Fresno City College, Scottsdale Community College, Cypress College and Fullerton College.

Directing credits include work at Allenberry Playhouse, Moonlight Stage Productions, Scripps Ranch Theatre, LaJolla Stage Company, Carlsbad Playreaders, Southwest Shakespeare Conservatory and several colleges. His productions of "Fuente Ovejuna" and "Heartland" were KC/ACTF regional finalists and performed in the 2006 in Cedar City, UT and 2009 at Cal State Fullerton.

Eric is the Artistic Director of the Carlsbad Playreaders beginning in 2010 and is the Co-Founder of the conservatory program, The Actor's Academy. He is also the recipient of the Kennedy Center's Golden Medallion of Excellence and a Patte' Award for Outstanding Directing.

As a professional actor, Eric performed withseveral regional theatre companies including PCPA Theaterfest, North Coast Repertory, Old Lyric Theatre & Summer Repertory Theatre.

Eric serves as a Governing Board member for the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival in which he is the Circuit Coordinator for the San Diego Circuit 6 and a respondent for the Irene Ryan Semi-Finalists. He previously served as Invitational Scenes Coordinator, Workshop Coordinator and Circuit 3 Coordinator.

The MiraCosta Theatre Department is excited to welcome Tracy Williams to it's full time faculty in Fall 2005. Tracy (formerly Tracy Hill-Dressler) comes to MiraCosta from Scottsdale Community College where she recently served as the Theatre Director for the past three years and faculty member for the past 19 years.

She is the Conservatory Director of The Actor's Academy which she also helped to co-found. She also was Conservatory Director at Southwest Shakespeare Conservatory which is attached to the Southwest Shakespeare Company in Mesa, Arizona. Tracy was a Founder of the Arizona Shakespeare Festival as well as the Southwest Shakespeare Company 13 years ago.

Tracy is married to Christopher Williams, a professional actor and director, and has three children.

Andrew Layton
Fulltime Faculty-Design

MFA University of Washington

We are pleased to announce a new addition to our fulltime faculty this fall: Andrew Layton.  Andrew will be joining the department of Performing Arts, as a new instructor in Theatre Tech.  Andrew holds a Master’s degree in Scenic Design from the University of Washington in Seattle, and has designed for Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts, and PCPA THEATERFEST in Santa Maria, California.

Kelly Kissinger
Instructional Associate

Kelly came to work for MiraCosta College in 1975. Since that time, he has been involved in over two hundred MiraCosta Theater productions. In addition to his duties as Technical Director and Master Carpenter, Kelly also does set design for the department and is an Associate Faculty member teaching Stagecraft.

Bryon Andersen
House Manager/Production Assistant

Bryon began his position as the House Manager/Production Assistant in December 2006. Bryon had worked previously for the Music Department and has been at MCC since 1997.

Leslie is the secretary for the Creative Arts. She came to MiraCosta from UC San Diego in 2005.

Her office is in the Theatre (2000) Building on the Oceanside campus. She is on duty Monday - Friday between August and May.

Lisa Berger
Associate faculty

An award-winning director, Berger also teaches at Grossmont College, San Diego City College and at New Village Arts. Her San Diego directing credits include Things We Want (New Village Arts), Killer Joe (Compass Theatre: Patte Award), Miss Julie and The Corpse Bride (Stone Soup), ANON(ymous) and Crimes of the Heart (Canyon Crest Academy), Buried Child (UCSD), The Long Christmas Ride Home (Patte Award) and Looking for Normal (Diversionary Theatre), Handbag (AASD), The Pirates of Penzance (Lyric Opera Academy), and Islands of Repair (NYC Fringe).

Paul teaches Stage Lighting at MiraCosta and designs the lighting for most of it's productions as well. A MiraCosta grad himself, Paul received a Masters degree from SDSU and now teaches full time at Guajome Park Academy.
